CC6 Fleming Park

Many thanks to Eastleigh for hosting a great final course for this series.

85 Men and 57 Ladies turned out for a chilly, yet dry morning’s run. Lower numbers due to other events taking place in the area, but a fitting turnout for the final race of the series.

Winners of trophies were: Men – Nick Buis – Totton, Ladies – Laure Van Den Broeck –  Lordshill, Teams Men – Lordshill, Teams Ladies – Totton, Teams Combined  - Lordshill. Congratulations to all. (If anyone has the men’s team trophy hidden away, please can you dig it out, we did manage to find the ladies one, so that is now back in circulation. Likewise if there is a combined team one, please can you have a dig for that too. It would be nice to get back to presenting them, it makes for a great season end.)

It seems you needed a blue hoodie this season to be in with a trophy chance.

Included at the moment the results for race 6, complete lists will be updated in the next day or so.

cc6 race 5 Dennywood

thanks to Totton, with help from Lymington Tri and New Forest, for hosting todays cc6 – have had some really great feedback about the course and especially about the cakes at the end.

Excellent turnout, despite the weather and we had 10o men and 61 ladies running

Well done to Tottons Nick Buis who has claimed the overall series win with still one race to go and todays team races were won by Lordshill for the men and New Forest for the ladies.

full results are now posted, well done to Lordshill men who have won the mens team prize and also combined mens/womens title. Ladies team prize is dependant upon the final race with Lordshill, New Forest and Totton all in the hunt

The ladies individual winner is also a 3-way race between Laure Van Den Broek, Shantha Dickinson and Claire Dyer

‘Fast’ runner restriction removed

Following difficulties encountered last season in enforcing the ‘fast’ runner restriction rules, it was decided at the cc6 agm to remove the ruling for the 2012/2013 season and open the league to all runners from the member clubs.

Review to take place at the end of the season to see what, if any, impact the removal causes and decision will then be made at the 2013/2014 agm to decide if the rule change is to continue

2009/10

2009/10 full results are available here.

Final series winners are:
male – Paul Bennett, Wessex
female – Sonia Rushby, Eastleigh
male team – Halterworth
female team – Eastleigh
combined – Hardley
male v40 – Jon Tilt, Halterworth
male v50 – Andy Easthaugh, Team Southampton
male v60 – Mick Anglim, Hardley
female v40 – Jane Carter, Romsey
female v50 – Francis Lord, Team Southampton
female v60 – Wendy Couper, Romsey.

Thanks to Eastleigh for hosting probably the last cc6 race at Manor Farm as looks likely the race will transfer next year to Fleming Park and apologies to everybody caught out by the new parking charges at Manor Farm as they were only introduced this week and we had no advance warnings.
Plenty of smiling, cheerfull marshals out today on a boggy course and well done to Felix Jaffe from Southampton and Karen Barton from Team Southampton who took individual honours. Hardley won today’s team event for the men and Winchester narrowly beat Team Southampton in the ladies race.
Numbers were up for todays race (114) but still well down on what we were seeing at the start of the season.
Overall, congratulations to Paul Bennett from Wessex who just edged Mike Elmes from Totton for the male series win and to Sonia Rushby from Eastleigh who wrapped up the ladies title after race 5.
Halterworth took the male team honours, beating Winchester and Hardley and Eastleigh the ladies from Team Southampton and Totton.
Hopefully the full series results will be posted before next weekend.
And finally, hope you all enjoyed this seasons series and thanks to all who organised the races and all who gave up their time to marshal.
